My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Colombia | Saturday, May 25, 2013 | 5 photos

My love for photography started when I went to Cuba in 2008. Back then I had a compact sony camera. It was a fantastic new world, or more like a fantastic old world. Worn facades, no brands and classic cars rolling on the streets. I wanted to capture it all and do beautiful photographs, but I wasn’t convinced of the quality of the pictures I was getting.

Two years later, and after saving enough money, I got a DSLR camera, a Sony NX10. Shortly after that I went to the national natural park Tayrona, were I did this photo-shoot. It was a great opportunity to put in practice the my photography skills.
My lense has travelled through many places. Not even the darkest night or the toughest weather will stop me. I love travelling, I consider myself a citizen of the world. But I love even more capture the essence of the places I visit. Not just the famous landmarks, but those hidden places no one has risked to go before.

After a 2 hours flight from Bogota to Santa Marta, a 1 hour bus trip, and 40 minutes’ walk, I got to the natural reserve of Tayrona. This little frog, no more than 3 cm long, came to my feet to welcome me.
