The Islands of the Gods - Jaimee Jochinke

I never really had a plan, nor did i know what i wanted to do. I have always been artistic and thought one day i would go to University but coming from a country town, the opportunity was not there.
I am now in my last year of a bachelor of visual arts majoring in digital media and photography. I am infatuated with digital imagery. Everywhere i look, i see a beautiful image waiting to be photographed. I am obsessed with different cultures and communities. I love seeing things for the first time and capturing detail or what others may see an "ordinary" within my images. It has taken me my whole life so far to figure out what i want to do with the rest of my life. They say that if you can find a job you love, you will never work a day in your life. I love photography and it's never ending possibilities and evolutions. I want to be a photographer.
On completion of my University studies, i am hoping to take on a full time career in Photography. I have my fingers crossed that having the luxury of traveling to new "worlds" would be a part of the beginning of such a wonderful career.
The Islands of the gods (aka Bali) was where i was lucky enough to spend my honeymoon. I fell in love with their exquisite pampering of tourists, immaculate temples and tropical environments. After traveling to Bali, i feel the need to explore more of our culture enriched world with it's vast range of animals and environments. To win the opportunity to both travel and be a photographer would to me, be life changing and a once in a lifetime opportunity not to be missed.
These images have been taken with my canon cybershot 6mp point and shoot camera (so honeymoony) and slighty edited through iphoto. My weapon of choice is a cannon 50D at the moment, saving my pennies for the 7D!
