My name is Jaimee, I'm 23 and from Perth, Australia. For many years I have been captivated by travel and wildlife. Four years ago I was in my first year of university studying biology. What I learned by the time that year came to a close is that I wasn't happy with where my degree was taking me. I wanted to travel. For the next three and a half years I worked and saved and about a month ago I made my dream a reality. I quit my dead-end job and began travelling. I have always loved travel but, I have lamented the quality of the images I bring home. I didn't want that to be the case anymore. I invested in a Sony NEX5 and I'm determined to learn how to use it. Winning this scholarship would mean so much to mean in terms of simply learning photography. I'm as amateur as they come. I still use auto most of the time and the only post production software I have is iPhoto on my mac. The Amazon in a region that I have wanted to see and photograph for a long time. I covet the opportunity to nurture my new passion and learn about a possible career path. Especially one involving travel.
