5. Dinagyang Festival. One of the most important festivals in the Philippines is Dinagyang Festival. It is held to honor the Sto. Niño and to re-inact the selling of the island of Panay to the Malays by the Atis. The festival uses percussions and people dances wildly into the beats. The picture shows a group of performance in an ecstatic revelry. Dinagyang is a festival that unites every Ilonggo and that help the festival to be elevated in the Hall of Fame by the Association of Tourism Ofiicials in the Philippines as the best tourism event in the country. It is held every fourth Sunday of January.
