The last week or so has been very hectic making sure I was as prepared as I could be for my trip.
With Christmas and New Year it has not been the easiest time to prepare yourself for visiting somewhere you have never been before, and stress levels at times have been high !!
However feel much happier now that I have got everything I need and have not forgotten anything.
The people at Inspire Kenya ( check out the website at inspirekenya.com) have been very helpful and reassuring.
It seems I will be working at an orphanage called Joy World Childrens home in Mombasa and that this is in need of a lick of paint !! I am told there are other volunteers over there at the moment ( Laura, Lauren and Leanne !!! )so I hope they will help me settle in.
To all my cricketer friends you will be pleased to hear I am taking across with me a "quick cricket" set and hope to be able to pass on some tips about the " forward defensive" !!
