My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I believe that photography is an art, an honest art. In paintings, we paint people or places the way we want to see them...the way we perceive them, but in photography we capture people and places as they really are in the real world, and we leave the perception to our viewers.

I have a lust for adventures and would say that I am a person who can't just sit still for a long period of time. My childhood dream, which still exists till now would be to travel the world, I am definitely trying to make that dream come true, and have so far "captured" little memories of Asia.

What drove me to take this opportunity is the fact that I know so little about photography, and there are times that I feel as if I do not do justice in capturing the true beauty of the places I've visited, or the moments I witness. There is still so much to learn, and if given the opportunity, the knowledge that I gain combined with my wanderlust would be a powerful tool. A tool that I will use to tell the story of the world, and to tell or show people, the many things they may have taken for granted in seeing.
