Memphis, TN

When in need of serenity for the soul, Memphis is the place to go. From Beale Street to Lonely Street, the music radiates. There's a reason so many greats come from here; B.B. King, Elvis, Johnny Cash, Koko Taylor; the city breathes creativity. To walk around Beale Street and listen to all the music, and see the spectacular nightlife, is an experience like no other. A tour through Sun Studio, Stax Museum of American Soul Music, or the Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum is enough to make anyone want to pick up an instrument and pour their heart into a rhythm. Of course, no visit is complete without spending a day at Graceland and remembering one of the greats. Elvis' home is an amazing experience and gives a view into his life that cannot be experienced through pictures or words.

Even the Memphis zoo is like another world; it's spectacular decor is unlike any zoo around. This is the first place that made it possible to see a panda up close. Although, to see the ducks march in the famous Peabody Hotel is equally as wondrous. The food of Memphis cannot be beat. It's hard to choose a favorite barbeque, since each restaurant offers something on the menu that will make a mouth water at the memory. And there is always a pink Cadillac limo waiting to show off every part of this beautiful city.

With so much to do and see in Memphis, this is always a city worth another visit...or more.

I have been to Graceland 12 times and plan to go again this year (just as I do every year) for Elvis week. I don't venture far from there but this really makes me want to do so. I didn't know about the duck hotel, that's the cutest thing ever!
