My Photo scholarship 2010 entry
Italy | Saturday, October 16, 2010 | 5 photos
My name is Jacopo, I’m 22 years old and I’m a student of International Relations.
I stepped into photography two years ago but I think i have the tools to face this trip, like simpleness and maybe the most important thing (at least for me) curiosity.
I really need to win this scholarship to get an important help to merge my passion with my studies and try to develope these two things in a powerful instrument. Photography can be many things but what I really love of this passion is the possibility to use art to inform people. It is the most beautiful way to strike and stun people and say “look! There is a an amazing world out there!” or “look what’s happening here!”. Even who isn’t in the mood to read an article will be attracted by a marvellous picture. That’s what I want to learn from this trip, to tell stories straight to the point with art.
I like to travel in the simplest way, dip into the culture, the ambient and the people of the place I visit, and to learn everytime different things (Tanzania and Venezuela two of the most amazing trips i’ve done). I like to be constantly in contac with different culture, in Italy I teach Italian to immigrants.
My story:
I went trekking (I love mountains) looking for some shoots that could tell you more about both, me and the placeI tried to represent my way to look at life. Leaving peace and comforts of your little world, the valley, to face the hardness and the difficulties of the unknown, the climbing, in order to get something special like the knowledge, that it’s represented from the view. But it’s never enough and you keep on dreeming to fly somewhere else.
