Our 4x4 WA Great Adenture

cape leveque

AUSTRALIA | Thursday, 6 October 2011 | Views [363]

Arrived at Cape Leveque yesturday from Broome. Dropped the trailer at our camp site and we drove off to the clear blue waters for a swim. Today we drove to One Arm Point to the Turtle Hatchery. I got to hand feed a massive barramundi. It neally took my fingers off! I frightened a huge Green Turtle and it's head went back under water at lightening speed.

We arrived back up at camp to grap some supplies and head out to the beach for a snorkel at low tide. I saw heaps of fish. At least 12 differnt species. We also saw huge sea cucumbers, coral, rock oysters, sea urchins and sea anenamees. Mum also thinks she saw a sting ray and a hump back whale breaching just out to sea. I was having too much fun jumping in the waves with my new camp friends to notice. I am looking forward to going on a tour tomorrow to make my own spear for fishing like the traditional Bardi aboriginals.
