(July 9 Note:- somewhere between my first post and the second, I misplacd my usb cable for my camera..sorry for the late trip updates, I had to order a new cable..pics to come!!)

~Friday, June 11th~

Left work at 5am and woke J up. Lots to do!! Dogs knew we were leaving and they weren't going with(they know they're accompanying us when they hear the jangle of their collars and leashes come out of the box), and wouldn't leave our sides. The car is packed, bike rack is UP, now for a Petsmart run for dog chow and we're on the road. 10:30 departure time and we made it around one neighborhood block with the bikes before deciding the bike rack was not going to suffice for this trip(it usually goes on my car and we had it on the CRV)..thought it was sturdy enough but the bikes wouldn't stay put when we went over bumps. So, turn the corner and into the alley, back to the house we go!! We trekked through the yard and returned the sad bikes back to the shed. :( We were really looking forward to exploring on our bikes.  (Note to J--next time we need to get a bike rack for YOUR car before we take a trip in YOUR car) :)

No time to be disappointed though, we're going to Fenway!! We stopped for lunch somewhere in Indiana? Steak n Shake and some podunk "NIKE OUTLET" store and we were back on the road. <Not impressed with Indiana. The term 'hoosier' is appropriate as a generalization..sorry farm friends. Dish soap in the bathrooms, you get the idea..> Not much different scenery b/t Indiana and Ohio..Jac was done driving somewhere near Indianapolis. I think the whole countryside must be under construction because my entire leg of the drive was stop and go traffic..in the rain!! I was missing the open road.

After having been awake for over 24 hours(which is nothing new, as we are night shift workers), we stopped about 30-40 minutes outside of Columbus, Ohio. Our hotel was pretty rank, I'm not going to lie. Can't beat a continental breakfast though so we'll leave it at that. Let's just say the desk clerk couldn't figure out how to give us the military discount and ended up discounting us even MORE after he overcharged us. Sweet. Day 1 is a wrap.
