My Scholarship entry - My creek, my Amazon.

Photography allows me to invite others into the world as I see it, even for one shutter click.
Patience is everything and nature is dynamic - returning to capture the right shot but being there and the reflex of one finger may be all that is required. 2 years as a photo lab technician, I witnessed the joy and impact of good photography as a communication tool. They can inspire awe and wonder, be informative, artistic or simply nice to look at
Aged 4, too shy to participate at a school fashion parade, confident with a Fuji. My focus was not a fashion runway, my best photos - metallic finish balloons. 100,000,s photos later nature dominates my subject matter, I embrace criticism or praise, over fill the lens and trust the mind’s eye of others to complete or personalise the story...always learning.
I long to explore every inch of the world, reach out to cultures that are unfathomable compared to my own. I am entranced by the mystery of the world and this opportunity would allow my images to provide insight of life in the Amazon, or send it crashing into someone's reality. Photography is the "essence of my life" I would love to bring the Amazon to others and others to the Amazon.
