The Sinking City

2 years ago, I went on a trip to Europe, which started in the city of Venice, where I still consider to be the most beautiful, and most important place I have ever been. The cobblestone streets and tall buildings overlooking the waterways was truly one of the most enchanting sights I have ever had the pleasure of seeing, and the beauty of the city is also tragic. Another reason that this trip to Italy was so important to me is because along with being known for being the city on water, it is also known as the city that is slowly sinking into the ocean, and it could happen within my lifetime. I really was affected by how this beautiful city that is rich in history and beautiful architecture wouldn't be there for my kids to see, and maybe not even be able to see it myself a second time. The culture of the city also was fascinating, in the fact that all people there seemed to be thriving privately without letting the public side of the culture, which is mainly catering to all of the tourists who are taking in the beauty of their surroundings. This trip is one that I would recommend to everyone who would be able to make the trip, because it is not going to be around forever, and it is a shame that it is sinking, but because of this fact I feel that it makes it even more important than it already was. Venice is one of the best places in the world, and by far my favorite one I've been able to see.
