my name is abdul malik jaberl ..from ghana ..i have being a fan of photography from the time i could admire beautiful and astonishing shots from football matches and the like. i have hoped for a chance to one day have bite at taking my own pictures on a bigger stage where, the story that comes along with picture could be taken up by the populace and not necessarily the beauty of it, because i have not studied photography as a major subject before and i hope these pictures could convince the scholarship committee and reward me with an opportunity of a lifetime
these shots were taken whilst on a canoe when a student group of mine went on a trip to a community which is built on a river....... the pictures talk about the original nature and the wild life people in my country are still living in and the care-free life of the inhabitants...but i am mostly thrilled about the route to the community and the the style of commuting from one end of the town to the other...it was hilarious to witness how people could do so many as if they were walking on land.
the first picture talks about the expression on the villagers face as if there nothing amiss.
the second picture also shows part of the community from a far distance. As beautiful and solemn the village seems on the outer-side there is brisk business on the inside waiting to be explored.
the third a landmark in Ghana..the in-famous Adomi bridge situated over the Akosombo river which connects the eastern part of the country to the Volta region home of the ewe tribe.
the fourth an up-close photograph of the village shows calm life on the river ........
the fifth , talks the most popular staple food in Ghana...it is called fufu .i was fascinated by the size of the pestle
