My girlfried and I decided to visit the Great Smoky Mountains on October 23-25. It was my first time to see the colors of autumn, so my reaction the whole we were driving there were "wow!!" and "awesome!!!". Our first destination was Cherokee, which is the gateway into the interior part of the mountains. We stopped by at the Oconaluftee Visitor Center to see the galleries and the gift shop. The visitor center has a trail that leads to the Oconaluftee river and to the old american village, and I was ble to take a photograph of a male elk drinking in the river while I was taking pictures of the river and the surrounding trees. It was a spectacular landscape!
We also took a roadtrip along the Blue Ridge Parkway and stopped at my overlooking sites along the road to see the marvelous mountains colored in orange, yellow, pink, red, and green.
