My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Ireland | Friday, July 5, 2013 | 5 photos
My name is Ivana Ivankovic, I am 21 years old and am currently living in Dublin, Ireland. You might be wondering how I've ended up in Dublin, with a name like mine! My parents are Croatian. My father and mother left to study in London. The war started in '92, so they stayed and had three wonderful children (incl. me)! My fathers' job took us to Dublin, where he is a professor in one of the top universities - University College Dublin. I'm a student of the other top university (the better one) Trinity College Dublin. I study Zoology.
Ireland inspires me. It's beautifully lush. I see it as a blessing in disguise that we had moved to Dublin when I was twelve. I feel that if I hadn't gone to the school I went to, I wouldn't have met my art teacher, who wouldn't have motivated me to see deeper than just a pretty picture. For my 3rd level education I chose a scientific route, which led me to Zoology. Another blessing in disguise. I study the natural world, from the cell to the ecosystems. Its truly fascinating.
These paths have led me to finding my ultimate path - photography. It is capturing a moment of your life and passing it on, unspoiled in the form of a photograph. A stored memory
