It was at the end of 2010 when finally my big dream to explore Java Island came true. I got a week break from my office then I decided to go on a backpacking to the eastern part of Java Island where I'd never been in. Well, since it was titled "backpacking" definitely there's no thing such as hotel or flight. the journey was begun as I got on a train " Progo". The train was fulled of people here and there until you don't even have spaces to step on, don't even expect a toilet. A 10-hours trip without toilet and all kinds of passengers ( baby cried all night long, some teens laughed n smoked and else). Well, at least it cost only about $3.6. Within 7 days, I finally stepped my feet on East Java (Surabaya, Malang, and several cities which I passed through the bus), Central Java ( Semarang, Pati, Bantul, and all the cities in the south route), Jogjakarta (including the erupted mountain Merapi, Kaliurang, Parang Tritis and the famous Malioboro) meanwhile West Java (Bandung and Lembang) has been visited some days before it.
The trip was one of the greatest of mine since I actualy had no idea at all about the places I wanted to visit, only some info from the net and stories. Somehow I made it. Indonesia is a very big country, that the world must confess about it. The time you need to travel for several countries may not be enough to travel an island in my country. Travel between provinces in Indonesia is probably equal to travel between countries in Europe.
There it was, the same train "Progo" took me back to my departure city, Jakarta. Well, it was even worse because I got a newly-wed couple as my seatmate. The other 10 hours trip without toilet, but it was worth. Those cities are amazing. 7days were just to short to spend. It will take you like months to really feel the beat. Well, but I did pursue my dream.
