Coastal Erosion

My Scholarship entry - Coastal Erosion: Photographic Perspectives

United Kingdom | Tuesday, November 4, 2014 | 5 photos

During my time at university, on a Photojournalism and Documentary Photography course, I became increasingly interested in landscape photography, because I wanted to explore ecological issues, as well as natural shape and form, and society's interaction with the natural elements of our world. I studied Environmental Sciences at A Level and have retained a desire to incorporate photography in any wildlife or habitat conservation work that I get involved in. Up until this point, I've been working to save money to start travelling and get a focused portfolio together. Twelve days under Jason Edwards' guidance would be invaluable, and it would truly be the start I'm working to achieve. I would relish the opportunity to document my experience and kickstart a travel writing career because, throughout my life, and as I've developed my mind, I've realised what matters to me, and what values I place above others. I want to spend my life travelling and I want a career that allows me to educate and influence change regarding our treatment of the world we live in. Through photography and documentation, I can do that. This scholarship would give me that chance.
