Ever since I started studying Plastic Arts and got my way around photography I have not once steered away from it as a tool to show the world as I see it and express my feelings. I’m a 23 year old girl from Colombia and one of the things I would like to accomplish the most is to travel through my country, to get to know it in it’s entirely, photography it and capture all the amazing things and beauty in it.
Unfortunately sometimes it’s easier to travel through other countries, weird as it may sound.

One of the reasons I want to do this, is to get to know Africa, a continent that shares a lot of situations and phenomena with my own, good things but also bad things. Being there with someone who has helped to pick up and unveil so many fragments of this world we live in, would help me to gather the tools to look at my own country from a lot of different ways, and why not, have the credibility to obtain the support I need to undertake this travel into my country. Also, I’ve always loved the idea to discover new places and I see it as a challenge to approach them with my camera, because it’s only after I’ve successfully captured a place that I feel I really got to know it.

Not only do I love taking photographs, I also love to look at the world, it’s inhabitants, it’s places, it good and bad things, through photography, through people, and that’s what I want to accomplish with my pictures, that people feel whatever it was the place or subject in the photograph was giving me, that people feel they have a piece of the world in their hands.

About isabel

At the end of the day, on a tree that was struck dead by lightning, a family of hawks gathers after calling each other by way of it's species istinctive screechings and gestures. There, they rest for a while before returning to yet another tree, this time a leafy one where they have built their nests, to spend the night.
