Serendipity, the perfect description to my sudden affinity to photography. It was a love at first sight affair, something that will always stay and play a big part in my life no matter what comes my way.
I take pictures because I want to freeze time, preserve the moment, the magic that only photography can emulate.
I studied Art Studies, spent four years of excursions and immersions to different indigenous tribes in the Philippines. It was an amazing experience, understanding and learning from those cultures. My last semester however was an eye opener. Future careers were laid out; teaching, museum works and worst customer service agent. The thought of working trapped in a 4-walled cubicle was too suffocating for my carefree nature to handle. So, I packed my bags and went home. I helped my brother with our small advertising business, overseeing and conceptualizing designs for almost three years until we closed down last 2011.
Spending four years studying artworks of old masters was fun but what I really want to do is to create my own masterpiece, to see my works exhibited for everyone else to learn from. And photography had long since won my heart.
