My Scholarship entry - The life of a seaweed farmer

I have only owned a DSLR a Little over 6 months. After watching your video’s and tips about photography and what you expect from a perfect image. I realised I was doing everything wrong. I learnt all I could from online tutorials, which basically is all about correcting images or manipulating them. I just thought thats how it was.
What this scholarship would mean to me is to become a true photographer with my own distinct style. To be taught the correct techniques from the start. To develop my skills from a mentor and a professional photographer who is willing to pass on his wealth of knowledge. I would love to be taught the traditional techniques and develop these skills into my own style. To keep the art alive of a perfect untouched image is what I want to be known for.
The images I sent in where taken before I knew about this competition and what you expected from the images. Nearly every image I take I know I can make look good in a computer program. I decided to leave my images pretty much untouched to get your true opinion. But from now on I will be shooting images to fill the frame how I want the image to look. Not how I want it to look from a computer program.
