The first time I traveled alone...

In a country like India, girls are never allowed to travel, live, eat, watch films/ theater alone. Rather, one should always have a company. The first time I traveled alone was just out of a quest to prove that it is not as difficult as portrayed. The first place that I traveled alone to was a small village of Mandwa near Mumbai. It was an hour from the famous Gateway of India via a jetty. With seagulls flying at the speed of the boat in the same movement, it gave a beautiful picturesque sight. After reaching there I realized that clean beaches and clear waters do exist around Mumbai. Water sports was an added attraction. Though they were of a beginners level, someone has to start from somewhere. From Mandwa I took a bus to Kihim beach which was a half hour travel. Again, clear beaches but with more people and more water sports options. While coming back the Sunset was to die for. Watching the Gateway of India from the waters while reaching there via the jetty was a lifetime experience. How I wonder sometimes, had I not been out exploring alone would it have been that much fun? I don't think so.
