airport madness

EGYPT | Saturday, 30 May 2009 | Views [545]

so im in egypt after arriving in Cairo and getting our visas we went outside, not a good idea, harassement i tell you :) 2 blond white tired tourists trying to fight off 20 taxi drivers trying to shove us in there cars, who would only talk to me as Cassy is a woman and therefore she should stand in the background. for those of you who know me when im tired thats it, my brain stops working, anyway we were saved by airport tourist info man who brought us to a coffee shop were we hung out until we could check in to hostel (thanks Kane) so 6 hours in airport then we jumped on a bus realised we didnt know where it was going jumped off and found a taxi that brought us to hostel where we slept for like 8 hours. Cairo is an amazing city, pricey but fun, every corner people shout hello and welcome as they perve on Cassy. but its fun visited pyramids yesterday, 3 seperate ones, first Giza, where we went around the pyramids by horse, i havent rode a horse in like 10 years but it all went ok, also we realised that its easier to say we are married and that we are both Canadian, people dont know ireland :( the pyramids were amazing totally breattaking and even now i cant believe what i seen. one pyramid had an entrance where you crouch down and pretty much crawl down 65 ft to get to the bottom- it was so clostophobic in there- i pretty much ran up last night we sat around a wee table with cushions on the ground in the hostel with a bottle of scotch and an america who plays guitar and sings bob dylans songs- it was so chilled and the greatest feeling to be free from everything and just traveling and meeting people i really enjoyed it tomorrow Luxor- and a 10 hour train, i hope its air conditioned
