Fighting For Philanthropy

Four years ago I was living in South Korea, teaching English, developing children's theater and backpacking with friends through southeast Asia. I began developing my sense of adventure and discovered that there were stories beyond the stage that I wanted to share. With my bags packed, I flew home to Florida, loaded up my car and drove to Los Angeles to figure out how to become a filmmaker.
There are people in this world who talk, and then there are people who do. That is why I'm sharing Andrew McGregor’s story. Unafraid of an adventure, Andrew approaches life with purpose. To the testament of those who have met him, he leaves a lasting impression, if not a huge grin. His stories are captivating and his accomplishments are noble. This is the type of story I want to tell. This is the type of filmmaker I want to be.
My love of traveling, story-telling, and straying from the beaten path (despite the LA filmmaker part....) makes me a worthy recipient of this travel scholarship. Through this mentorship I hope to explore Bryan's knowledge of filmmaking, and the unique experience only found while traveling, with the purpose of elevating my own techniques. This scholarship would be a cumulative result of the late nights and long hours; shooting, editing, watching online tutorials, and just simply winging it. Most importantly, this scholarship will give me the chance to travel with purpose.
