What do I know about Photography ? Technically, almost nothing. But I know the feeling. Having your eyes catch the essence and the uniqueness of the common surrounding. Holding your breath during those seconds where nature is revealing its intelligent design and comes print its paws on the lense.
I always had a fascination for wildlife. And in this journey, north to south of Japan, I came upon one of the most exciting confrontation between modern world and raw nature, I had witnessed so far.
Facing the shores of the dramatically historical site of Hiroshima is a small island: Miyajima. It's main population is a mixed of Tourists, Monkeys and Deers. Thousands of them, roaming freely in the streets from the island world reknown buddhist shrine gate (torii) to the top of its highest pic, the Mount Misen.
This is all the paradox of Japan, a land where nature is always at the corner, still fighting to take back its right over the concrete and technological jungle. At those unique frontiers, the eye can only stop to admire the strength and beauty of life and its code of survival continuously revisited. This is one of those rare sanctuary deep in the land of men where one can find peace inside.
I have a passion and a thirst for photographing the World. Observing it first, following its many ways, trying to understand its meaning and then capturing an accurate glimpse of it. It would be for me a fullfilling, learning experience and a great pleasure to follow that path down to Africa and be part of this amazing opportunity.
