Inspiration.
In my opinion, homeless and beggars are misunderstood by
most people. I thought that by shading
some light onto the subject matter, people might start looking at beggars with
more patience and understanding. And those qualities are always good for
everyone.
Planning.
How did I plan my piece. At first I’ve found a challenging
idea. Then, wrote a plan for my day ahead – made a list of kind of shots I
needed, and what people I needed to talk to. Hopefully my creation turned out to be
original and interesting to watch.
Challenges.
For me, approaching strangers, pointing camera directly at
them, combining narrative with video footage, were the most challenging parts.
Ambition.
In my opinion the essence of the documentary, is to somehow
increase the awareness on subject matter by providing ether new information or
a different point of view. And narrative is the most fun way of doing it.
For example, tell an engaging story about a person we don’t
understand, and get to know them. Then, we usually end up being more accepting
of that person.
And that’s my ambition – make people more accepting of the
world around us.
Thank you for this opportunity.
