It was my first time Saturday morning in Bantul, Yogyakarta. I opened the door and felt like the dew splashed my face. The scenery in front of me looked beautiful which was a green carpet of rice field. That was why I didn’t want to miss a morning gift from nature that time. Then I walked along the edge of the main road. I found the road was still deserted even though it was already 6.30 AM. I looked around the street and my eyes captured an old woman was paddling her bicycle. She paddled so slowly. Well, maybe her feet were too tired to keep paddling fast. Right side of her was another old woman in a bicycle, but she was paddling fast enough. Both of them had the same destination, to the traditional market. What made it interested was the different ways to reach their destination. Actually I just enjoyed how the first old woman paddling her bicycle. Her look was relaxed and represented as if she had nothing to do in rushing herself. It looked so different with the second woman that paddling so fast. What a pity it was that the second woman forgot to enjoy the beautiful morning. Without she realized that the morning view was made to be enjoyed by her, so why did she miss it? That two kind of situations made me thinking and comparing. Yes, the first old woman had showed me how to enjoy a slow-but-sure journey instead of taking fast way. By looking her suddenly I asked myself, why do I keep wanting a fast result but not enjoying the process itself in life? As long as I know my destination, all I need is to keep in faith to reach my destination even if my steps are not as fast as others. I smiled by myself and was grateful that I could learn something that morning through a very small thing. Yeah, keep walking and never losing the faith, so why must be in a rush, right?
