My Scholarship entry - My testimonial of Guaraní people
Argentina | Saturday, November 22, 2014 | 5 photos
My name is Igor. I am a Croat by birth, an environmentalist by my choice and profession, and a passionate photography amateur. To capture unique moments and preserve them in time is what drives me further in my photographic-quests, weather I’m on a trip, in occasional walk through forest or on vacations.
Many years ago I had opportunity to visit Argentina’s Misiones province where live the Guaraní people. It was for the first time in my life that I encountered a community living happily in all its simplicity, far from achievements of modern world, taking from nature what it naturally provides them with and returning back with respect all their thankfulness. This experience changed my life in many ways.
A dream to see, experience and capture other South American countries, great civilizations, indigenous communities, and stunning nature ecosystems persists ever still. Opportunity to visit ancient capital of the Incas, to explore culture of the Andes and a green heart of the Amazon rainforest seems like a fantasy to me. Moreover to learn from the best and work with a renowned National Geographic photographer Jason Edwards would be a dream come true. Yet may the best contestant win.
