My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Pakistan | Sunday, January 13, 2013 | 5 photos
I am film maker who started photography as a hobby five years back. I started out as a street photographer. I was doing photography by venturing into streets on my own which was in itself an adventure as a female operating in Pakistan. Documenting lives of common people was what interested me. I captured the faces and drama happening on streets. .
Traveling has been something which always fascinated me. So almost half of my photographic work has been done while traveling to other cities and countries.
As a film maker interested in indigenous tribes, the practice of ethnography also reflects in my photographic work. In my future work I will like to work in series on indigenous tribes rather than take random shots.
I am a self learned photographer. I do not have a degree in photography nor did I learn it from somebody. I learned it through books. So I would love to avail this opportunity where I will get the chance to be mentored and specially by a National Geographic Photographer. It is my dream to someday work with NATGEO and this scholarship is the perfect opportunity to work with NATGEO .
