About my photo:
The photos I took when I was travelling in zhujiajiao, an old water town near shanghai, china. It was early morning that day,and all the shop on the street still closed. I walk around by myself, enjoying the empty scene.
Why I should be chosen for the 2010 Travel Photography Scholarship?
Because I’m passionate about photography, people, culture and travelling. I am eager to learn and grow as a professional photographer. I like to travel mostly into some rural area who culturally rich rather than a big modern city. And Bhutan is one of my dreamland.
I am a self learner in photography. But t as I often get into some traditional architectural research in my school project, somehow it makes me enjoy travelling, and like to learn about a culture on all aspect. I falling in love with photography ever since, I use photography as some way of observation, some way of communication. I like to thinking about how I get and tell the story trough photography. Even now, I try to learn about visual culture& photography based research, I try to use it for the topic on my last school assignment.
I want to dedicate my life to photography. I want to learn how to make a photo essays that has strong in narrative, and can contribute to the community, visually or narratively. I would like to inspire others with the stories of my subjects, and perhaps encourage people to do something about something.
I know I am still just a student, and still have a long way to go into those level.
So that's why I need this scholarship.
