My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Indonesia | Thursday, July 4, 2013 | 3 photos
It was my father who introduced me with photography. My first analog pocket camera was a gift for my 10th birthday from him. While he made photographs with his analog single-lens reflex, I was happy with my own camera.
I applied as a photojournalist in The Indonesia News Agency ANTARA. But now I am a journalist with a camera always in my backpack.
I realize that photography is my passion. This passion never really lost on me even when I have got so many rejections on my works. It is not a journalist I was looking for from the beginning. I feel have got enough journalistic experiences to support my future photojournalism carrier. Now its time for me to pursue my dream to be a good photojournalist.
All I need is a chance to learn from the great photographer like Jason Edwards to be able to create excellent photojournalism in the future. The Travel Photography Scholarship 2013 with National Geographic will be the best opportunity for me to learn photo journalism from the professional. And journey to the Greenland with Jason Edwards will be a priceless experience for me before becoming a real photographer.
