Ramzaan-Shopping-Near-Charminaar

My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

India | Tuesday, September 6, 2011 | 5 photos

These photographs were taken in City of Hyderabad During the festive season of Ramadan. Due to heavy population of Muslim community people in the Old Hyderabad Town or near Charminar locality, the streets are jam packed with people of the community, majorly females, that go out during the day to do shopping for mostly items that are related to make up or well being. though the muslim community women are not allowed to show themselves, thats why they wear a Burqa(a clothe that wraps the entire body with window for eyes to see through).

I am an amateur photographer traveling around places here in india and shooting images for the past 3 years now. with an affinity towards street, people, places and portraits. i should get this opportunity because in a country like india, there is not much happening that can help amateur photographers to go places and shoot images. only pro photographers can use the corporate fundings from media houses etc to carry on these kind on shoots.
