Every Jacket has a Poppy, and I am Freezing.

In 2012, a hurricane called "Sandy" hit the USA destructively, and it was a truly tragic event. During such event, I was a part of the delegation group from my country to the USA, and due to Sandy our flight got cancelled. We were booked on the first available flight on a short notice, later on we found out that we have 12-hours transit in London.

Upon arrival to London, the group was very tired, but my friend and I were not and decided to try to get transit visas and visit London while we can. After a long queue, we were able to get the visa. Afterwards, we went to do currency exchange as we had zero preparation for the UK and at that stage we realized that we forgot some items with the rest of the group and it was too late to return.

After asking around, we decided to take the metro, but where to? It took a while asking strangers for recommendations, someone recommended "Piccadilly circus" as a good place to have a nice meal and relax. Using his advice, we took the metro for 45 minutes while enjoying the beautiful view. Upon arrival, we found ourselves in a beautiful city with red buses and telephone boxes. But, it hit us, we both forgot our jackets and it was cold to the point where I was almost freezing.

In such a cold weather without jackets, we decided that we must buy something to wear in order to survive. During a long walk in that beautiful city I almost got bitten by a horse, and I notice that many people had a flower-badge on their jackets. Captured by its beauty, we wanted to take photos of the city. But, we realized yet again that we left our cameras with our jackets, and that my phone was dead.

We kept searching for an appropriate shop, until we saw a huge Ferris wheel. For some unknown reason, we got very excited thinking it was an amusement park, and we decided to get a closer look. Walking closer, we had our jaws dropped. A moment of silent took over, and then we asked each other "Is this what I think it is? Are you sure? No-way! It's BIG BEN"... After calming down, we took some lovely photos with his phone's 3.2 MP camera. We found many shops around that area, and we bought many souvenirs (mainly cloths), and felt warm at last. We stayed there for a few hours, had a nice meal and then rushed back to the airport.

The delegation was jealous because our initiative was a success. During the flight, I had an English man explain the flower-badge everyone wore, and I got a story about the "Remembrance Poppy". It was an AWESOME adventure.
