NYC Moments in Time

My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

Worldwide | Sunday, October 17, 2010 | 4 photos

In our consumerist modern-day society, we don’t often have the time or inclination to stop, take a look around and ‘smell the roses’. Yet with a camera in hand we can capture those magnificent moments that go unnoticed under our noses. With the photograph we are all invited to see the wonders around us up close and look deeper into our daily lives.

These images capture the juxtaposition of New York’s fast-paced yet tranquil nature. This small series of four images captures unique moments in time, a breath of fresh air between the chaos and constant movement of the big city. In a place like New York, you only get a second to experience these small fleeting glimpses of beauty, where the composition of foreground and background elements are arranged in a perfect scene. Often if you blink, you have already missed your chance.

This amazing opportunity would combine my passion for photography with the exceptional experience of traveling to an unknown destination. I take every experience that comes my way as chance to capture something new and exciting about the world we live in. If given the opportunity to travel to Bhutan I would embrace every moment!
