HMAS Sydney Memorial

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Australia | Saturday, January 12, 2013 | 5 photos

Its as simple as I Love Photography
Im a hardworker that has a keen eye for photo compisition
I enjoy Traveling as much as i can, but don't get to as mush as i would like to.
I try to take a group of photos that tell a story and evoke an emotion from the viewer and that is what i have done with this submition, The HMAS Sydney Memorial

The HMAS Sydney was lost at sea near Carnarvon during the second world war. this memorial was set on Mt scott in Geraldton. A dome consisting of 645 steel sea gulls one for every life lost, adorns the top of the mountain. replicas of the ships prow and a statue based on the most famous photograph of the time, The waiting woman. She stands tall taiting for the men to return to no avail.

When i take a photograph i need to feel something behind the shot othewise i feel that it is just a picture, not a photograph.

I enjoy just trecking though differnt enviroments and landscapes to find a shot that evokes emotion from the viewer.
As a Budding photographer, if i can tell a story through my pictures it really becomes true that not only is a picture worth a thousand words its also worth a thousand emotions

Thank you for considering my submition
Daryl
