I am a woman from Turkey. I studied animation and still making my master on it. My thesis is about ecology and animation. So i am interested in nature, recycling and how it is related with our daily life. In my daily life i'm trying to be independent and free woman also. But in a country like Turkey it is hard to feel free as a woman. In my documentary i chose a woman traveller from Turkey. I know that it is hard for a woman to pass through religion, culture and male-dominant society and start a journey. It is harder if you are going on bycle. So i appreciated Irem Çagil's courage . It is the courage of being not like the others and break the prejudices. Through my studies and my working life i had hard times about being a woman. Also it is really hard to discover and record new feelings, people, animals, historical situations and etc. when you are full time worker. Being far from the real world made me feel very unhappy. I believe that every people has a light inside about what they should do in life. My light is brighter when i am travelling and discovering. I am becoming a more creative , alive, concentrated person. In this workshop i hope there will be a lot of different people with different motivations. It will be great spend time with them also. In the future i want to make documentaries mixed with animation. I want to be travelling, independent , alive woman and this journey will be a great step for me. Learning with Brian Rapsey is also will be great chance.
