Finding Singapore

My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

Pulau Ubin is an obscure offshore island of the city-state that still has a rural resident population reputably living as mainland Singaporeans did fifty years ago. I chased this baby Malayan Water Monitor with my camera whilst balanced on my bicycle; it was very curious and not at all frightened of me as I fidgeted around the mudbank with my camera, looking straight into the lens before swimming further into the pool.
