Wonders of South East Asia

My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

Worldwide | Thursday, October 20, 2011 | 5 photos

These photos were taken during my last visit to South East Asia when I traveled through Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.
I have found that landscapes, people, their culture and the way their religions are represented in South East Asia have been the most inspiring of all to me when it comes to photography.
These photos tell mostly about the people and their lives so different to mine.
On a personal note I like to imagine what are in their minds at that moment and makes me feel that I have captured a thought and feeling that it could never be replicated again.
For the last 9 years I have spent more time overseas than in my own country Argentina, traveling alone most of the time, I have found myself in places and situations I have never dreamed I'd be. I'm not a rich person (money-wise). I have worked here and there while traveling around the world to make enough money to keep me going but the experiences I have lived these last years have given me thousands of moments full of flavors, smells, sounds and textures that come to me immediately when I go back to those photos I have taken, and those experiences have made me a who holds another kind of fortune, one that could never be taken away from me.
That is how I became this photography lover (It is hard for me to call myself a photographer since I have never formally studied or earned any money by photographing, but the satisfaction of doing it has been priceless)
Whenever I'm about to start a new trip there is only one thing I cannot do without, and that is my camera.
I think I'm as perfect for this job as this job is perfect for me.
I am man who's not only not afraid of being outhere in touch with new cultures or "getting lost" in strange places looking for a great shot but loves it too.
