In Spite of Adversity - Mono Lake's Persistent Natural Wonders

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

USA | Tuesday, January 8, 2013 | 5 photos

As my undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies draws to a close, I am deciding how I can apply my skills, interests, and knowledge in a career. I am passionate about photographing all the interactions and places around me because through photography I can create images showcasing the world’s magnificent diversity. I would like to make a career in travel and nature photography. The best shot is the photo which invites the viewer in and stirs thoughts and emotions, and I strive to create such images in my daily life and travels. This scholarship would allow me to experience the career that I would like to enter while providing me with a way to learn from an expert and develop as a travel photographer in the field. I photograph when I travel, but that is not the same as being a professional travel photographer. I would like to be given the chance to learn in the field the techniques and discipline required to create stunning images in a professional environment. My goal from this competition is to learn the skills I will need to succeed at becoming a professional travel photographer, so that I can work to promote interest in the world’s diverse creatures, places, and cultures.
