My Photo scholarship 2010 entry
India | Saturday, October 16, 2010 | 5 photos
It has been exactly 7 years since I started travelling. I saw wonderful people and landscapes...the sun looked different through those broken canopy shields. I kept on travelling across rural, wild and vulnerable India. Whenever I came back to the urban self, I felt a need to make people realize and see what I had seen. I decided to take camera along with me as a companion. It worked wonders for me right from the start. Eventually as my camera captured and reflected the images that were lurking in and were being continuously made in my mind efficiently, photography became heart of my exploration trips. After about 4 years of roaming with my Canon 300D, I like clicking extreme close-ups, landscapes, people and rural children portraits...I find myriad stories in their ever expressive eyes. I like to experiment unconventional angles and lighting conditions. Some day, I wish to photo-document cultures, tribes, landscapes, animals, and all astonishing and mysterious features of mother earth. Having said this, I still understand strengths and considerable flaws in my style of photography. While I like connecting nature, people and lifestyles in my images; due to lack of professional stream lined training, I fall short when it comes to expert understanding of the final product and techniques involved to attain that. I need to be selected at world nomad`s scholarship to break the barriers and repair loopholes in my technique; it will also help me to understand composition and art of storytelling through pictures in much realistic and competent ways. With this international exposure, I will gain a platform to learn minute details and techniques of travel photography which will help me pefor and build up my career in and around the world of travel photography.
