My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

A long time back I read a quote by St. Augustine, “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” Traveling is something I enjoy with my heart and photography is the best way I have found to tell my stories.
I took up photography when I needed a hobby, to distance myself from the everyday humdrum. I find peace with myself when I take photos, I truly enjoy making photos that photography now seems to be viable career option.
I didn’t know about the competition until last month and I realize this is a great opportunity to prove myself. To travel to a place with an open heart, talk to the people there and understand their culture, be a part of it for the few days you stay there and then present those wonderful memories to the world is what I aim to achieve.
Reading articles online is one thing, learning from Jason on the field would be a different and invaluable experience. When I read articles by travel photographers the images and the words blend in with each other seamlessly. Everything in the article feels natural and you are transported to that land. This is what I wish to learn, through hard-work and observing the best in the field.
