My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I adore photos. I have grown up travelling quite a lot with my family and taking lots of photographs during our trips. When I was young, I used to feel thrilled every time somebody pushed the camera button. Whenever I heard that soft sound, ‘click’, I wondered how anybody could capture an image by just touching a button. I believed that something magical, something extraordinary took place that very moment. That feeling never left me. It’s still here with me every time I hear the ‘click’ sound. My passions? Photography, writing, travelling, camping. I keep thinking that I still haven’t found my best shot, but that it’s somewhere out there waiting for me. Every click makes my imagination ‘fly away’. Every single shot has a whole story to tell me. As Mark Twain said: ‘You cannot depend on your eyes if your imagination is out of focus’. We may say ‘I took a photograph’ but I believe that a good one is created, is made by our feelings. It’s not only a shot, it depicts what the creator can see, can feel through her own eyes and senses. A creator’s pictures are her/his sign on earth and as Joe McNally said: ‘Our pictures are our footprints. It is the best way to tell people we were here’
