Venice – From the mind and heart of a traveler

In the midst of that one-sided argument, he finally left me mid-way to my solitude in that unknown world. With anxiety and restlessness in my heart, stumped I was, to see the numerous enigmatic travelers around me. In a moment, I overheard a behemoth of thrill and ecstasy in someone’s voice elucidating the intensity of flying colors revering the hidden charm of this majestic city, which, on the contrary, had painted gloomy shades of experiences for a novice solo traveler. Lost and heart broken, I decided to go wandering in search of that one ‘corner’ which could splash off the duel running between my mind and heart. My naivety drove me further and I was carved to explore the entry point of that secluded waterway, towards the end of the passage. Enthralled with the breath-taking scenic view, I decided to sit beside that big rock placed firmly like a cliff at the extreme edge of the passage, surrounding the Grand Canalazzo. Gradually, I removed that paled skin of sorrow and grief, and my soul was enlightened to see how my mind and heart were dancing to the rhythm of nature’s acoustic music- Water! The waterway was full of life and mystically flooded waves were crashing off the cliff with a whip and bouncing back. The dusk crept over the sun slowly and in a sparkling moment, the sky turned to a dusky purple coloured canvas. In that aura, I noticed the elegance of blue cruise passing the iconic St. Mark's Square, granting a stunning view to those aboard. After adding some colorful moments to my memory jukebox, I started to walk backwards and a few meters ahead, I bumped into the real aura of that wonderland, which, by far, unleashed two shades of its existence to my savour. While this part was overflowed with numerous tripping cruise passengers and tourists partaking the living city that hums with modern and artistic culture all over; the other side, far beyond its touristy veneer, was unfolding the authentic life revering around old red brick walls, peaceful alleyways and the pontes, with locals seen all over meeting in open squares while enjoying their favorites – ‘Spritz’ in one of the many cafes. The rainbow of romance and love was disseminated in every corner of this wonderland, illuminating its charm as ever. And as they say the true, innate satisfaction in travelling hinges around finding "The real meaning of the location". That dark narrow lane, I was heading to, was reflecting a shadow, and while he embraced me tightly, I got transfixed by that aura!
