My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My name is Hayley Golden and I am trapped in the straight jacket of the white-collar workforce. I am an HR Business Partner consuming a daily diet of regulation, legislation and bureaucracy. I spend my days dreaming of my next travel destination and my nights planning it. After discovering the scholarship I wasn’t able to sleep for 21 hours. Wracked with excitement, I committed to putting my all into this entry.

At 15 I picked up a film camera and began taking portrait photos of my nieces. At 15 I unearthed an obsession that would only intensify over the years to come. I see the world through frames and have a passion for stopping to witness the world around us. Searching to find the unnoticeable and displaying it for those who have missed it or simply aren’t fortunate enough to be there at that very moment.

Winning this scholarship would change my life – but I’m sure you already know that. I want to learn, and learn from the best. I want to take the years of knowledge and experience Jason has acquired and add this to my knowledge bank. I want to use photography as a tool for education, a message to promote action or change, and at its most simple, to evoke thought.
