My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Im born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I have a graduation in journalism and have been studying photography since january 2012. I wanted to show people different realities from all over the world, in general. People from Rio thinks they are the greatest ones in the planet and they do think their reality is the only right one. General discrimination (race, beliefs, religious, sexuality...) is very intense on the "cariocas". Photography came during the years I lived in the US and got in closer contact with nature parks and saw a brand new world where conservancy and ecology were important. So my goal changed a bit and became more turned to nature conservancy and to show people through images,how the world can be beatiful and different and how important it is to try to save it and find balance with nature and ourselves. If I can make lots of people to really see the most of it,easier will be for them to accept other realities. Thats why this journal is from a trip to the Netherlands, where I wanted to show how rich this country can be, and how it is not only about Amsterdam and its bars and night life.
