My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

I want to inspire others to see what I have seen and what I see.
Oia village on Santorini Island, Cyclades, has a tourist activity that eventuates every day that the sun shines. Watching the sun set, viewers come from everywhere to view the last rays of the day experiencing calm and peaceful emotions with a sense of freedom.
Taken for granted, donkeys, on display, travel up the steep steps, sweating under their own strain yet not even aware of freedom as an existence. The contrasts of emotions from viewers are differed by their depth of awareness and views. The colorful creatures only hightens the activity as time almost seem to stand still through their raucous activity.
To have the ability to capture moments in time that draws a viewer into the image with such life that they believe for a moment they are there. Images that are so strong they influence all your senses that you can almost hear, smell and feel the air around the subject. My goal is to travel to the extreme ends of the world as a professional to bring viewers ‘split-second’ lifetime experiences.
My opportunities took a few detours through various jobs and cultures, first and third world, but have now made me ready to step towards being a photographer.
If my images show my potential to be developed as a captivating photographer and I am selected, I hope to use this experience to learn as much from Jason as I possibly can to improve me as a photographer. I want to have the skills to capture images that are not only striking in every way but most importantly to me, does NOT require post shot make-overs with computer software.
