My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Australia | Sunday, January 13, 2013 | 5 photos

To say that I have been bitten by the photography bug is an understatement. Seven months ago I used to think that all you had to do was point your camera and press a button, It can't be that hard right? I soon learnt that couldn't be further from the truth.
I knew that if I wanted to get the full potential out of my camera and myself I needed to enroll in a course; I am now currently enrolled with the Photography Institute enjoying every step of the way.
Photography has changed my perception of how I view my surroundings and how I react and interact with the world.
Before a dragonfly was a creepy bug but now a beautiful insect with intricate colouring and expressions, a lake just a large body of water surrounded by land when in fact hiding in the bushes and under its calm surface life is abundant.
That is what photography is, It aims to change the perception of the viewer. To connect, to inspire, to experience, to evoke. This is my aim with my photography, To tell a story and perhaps change the perception of the viewer and have them think out side of the box.
As I am still learning I believe this scholarship will only propel me forward and help me achieve my goals.
