Reached the South Island

UNITED KINGDOM | Monday, 13 October 2008 | Views [268]

After a late night out in Wellington we took the Ferry across to Picton, a 3 hour crossing.  It was a beautiful day, a little chilly out on the main deck.  I had no idea it would take that long to get the South Island but the views along the way were amazing.  In the distance you could see the mountains still with snow covered on them.  I have photos which I will put on here at a later date. So we now have just under the 3 weeks on the South Island and I think we will be busy.  Skydiving, glacier walks, kayak trips and most importantly a trip to see the whales and dolphins.
