New York Magic

Having gained a love for travel and a love for photography, I've taken to creating time-lapse videos to document my travels and to capture the essence of the country I'm visiting. The most recent one I created and the one that I feel really captured the urban vibe, is my time-lapse of New York where I hand picked various sites that matched my vision. I edited and produced the entire project myself.
This scholarship opportunity would allow me to pursue my love for travel as well as photography and filming. It would open up further opportunities for me to gain skills in filming - a field that I have recently self-taught. As a traveller who enjoys going off the beaten path and avoid touristy spots, I feel that it would translate well into my documentation in Colombia, in terms of being adventurous and open minded and willing to try anything and see what comes up. I created my first time-lapse video in Iceland last year, and the difference in quality of that video and the video I am submitting is stark. It is down to that willingness to 'jump in' and that 'just-do-it' attitude that I was able to improve my skills and create a better product.
I feel that I should be chosen because of how and where I can apply my work - I previously documented my time spent in the French Caribbean and some photos were used as part of an online social media community project to promote the island of Martinique. Others were also shortlisted by the British Council to promote study abroad programs.
