The Night Sky at Zhazhla

Zhazhla is a beautiful small village located in Sharbazher area in the Sulaimaniyah city from the Kurdistan region in Iraq.
As the great Kurdish poet Nali says “do no pass by the area, without travelling to Sulaimaniyah”. And of course the most beautiful area in Sulaimaniyah is Sharbazher where is consists of many awesome villages. Zhazhla is one of the most beautiful villages in Sharbazher.
Most travelers are surprised by the view of the area which is surrounded by mountains and trees with a nice little stream. But what amazed me most in my travel to Zhazhla with my college friends was the gorgeous night sky in the autumn time. The sky in the village is not polluted like the sky in the cities. The air and light polluted sky of the cities made me never see the Milky Way galaxy and all the beautiful starts in the sky with my naked eyes in my life. But that night we decided to sleep on the roof of the house under the sky full of stars. I never forget what I saw that night, I could see the Milky Way right in front of me with my own eyes. I was feeling like I am in a three dimensional cinema and the stars were surrounding me. I was staring at the sky and felt like I am away of the earth and swimming between the stars in the sky. After a while my friends called me to eat some snacks and sweets, “I am not satisfied and fed of the stars yet” I replied. That night I was the last person to sleep, I was staring at the sky till late in the night.
That place and moments were that amazing which made me to visit the same place one year later and spend another night under the beautiful sky but this time with more information about our Milky Way galaxy and the stars around us because after leaving the place in the first time I did many research about our galaxy and astronomy in general.
If you are a person who loves the sky. If you are a person who loves to stare at the stars at the stars and see them so bright that you have never seen them alike before. And more importantly, if you like to see the Milky Way galaxy with your naked eyes, then I advise you to travel Zhazhla in a summer or autumn night where our planet stares at the middle of the Milky Way and the sky is full of bright stars. But you have to be aware to take some extra clothes with you because the weather there is much colder than the cities. Not to forget, don’t forget your amplifier and a bunch of nice music to make the night unforgettable.
