My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Indonesia | Thursday, July 4, 2013 | 3 photos
I was born and had my formative years in Indonesia, the country with rich culture and natural resources. I remember vividly that my parents used to take me and my 2 sisters to different cities, towns, and villages whenever we had school holidays. The objective was one: so that we see, feel, and experience Indonesia and her diversity.
Not until I moved to Canada, had my first camera, and then start travelling to some different countries, do I realize how fun and rewarding it is to capture different places and cultures. Through my camera I learn to see what's there in front of my eyes. It's funny how a small rectangle in a camera viewfinder can make you focus on things and see them in different perspective. I had the opportunity to visit Indonesia recently, and these are a series of portraits of Indonesian farmers that I encountered during the trip.
I love travelling and try to do it when I have a chance, but I feel that there's something missing in my travel photos. I'm eager to find this missing piece, and I'm sure that Jason's guidance will help me to do so and to be a great travel photographer.. which is my dream job.
